Florida Alpha Educational Foundation (FAEF)
The Florida Alpha Educational Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Donations accepted by the foundation are tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Code. The Corporation Bylaws are available here upon request.
Contributions to the Florida Alpha Educational Foundation assist deserving young men in obtaining a college or university education, or other special educational needs.
There are two funds available and donations may be made as a memorial or recognition gift if the donor wishes.
Florida Alpha Scholarship Fund
Aiding young men of the University of Florida who are members of, or who are rushing to become members of, the Florida Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, the Florida Alpha Scholarship Fund provides help through scholarship proceeds.
Dave Hendon Added Dimensions Fund
Building and maintaining an educational environment, the Dave Hendon Added Dimensions Fund underwrites some tuition costs for certain educational programs like the SigEp Leadership Continuum, Conclave attendance, UIFI (sponsored by the National Interfraternity Conference), and other educational campus and community leadership programs for brothers. It can also be used to fund qualified educational furniture, fixtures, and equipment within the chapter house facility. This is our most flexible fund.
If you would like to contribute or discuss tax deductible gifts - including stock donation - please contact FAEF Treasurer Jon Katz at jjkatz@me.com or 1(561)558-4750.
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors whose Responsibilities include:
Ensuring funds are secure and prudently managed
Selecting recipients of the “Florida Alpha Alumni Scholarships”
Providing funds to projects and individuals as outlined above under “Dave Hendon Added Dimensions Fund”
Providing funds to the undergraduate chapter in support of their “Balanced Man Scholarships” which they award to deserving incoming freshmen in conjunction with the recruiting process.
